What you get
Each address uses 12 random letters and numbers, with an inbox behind it. Nothing about it comes from your name or your details, and it is long enough that nobody can realistically guess it. Press New address and the generator replaces it with a different one.
Random addresses vs lists of random emails
Some people searching for random emails want a list of addresses to paste somewhere. Be careful with those. A random-looking address on a list may belong to a real person, who then receives your sign-up mail, and sending unwanted mail to a list like that is spam.
This generator makes one working inbox for you, not a list. It doesn’t produce addresses in bulk, and creating accounts in bulk is against our acceptable use policy.
Which kind of address do you need?
- You need to receive a code or link: use the inbox on this page.
- You need placeholder data for code, tests, or a design mockup: use the reserved
example.comdomain, as inuser1@example.com. It is set aside for documentation, so it won’t reach a stranger. - You’re testing your own sign-up emails: use this inbox to see them arrive. Temp mail for developers explains what it can and can’t test.
- You want a name people will read: create a normal account with a provider. Addresses here are random, and you can’t choose them.
Random doesn’t mean accepted everywhere
Websites can recognize temporary email domains, whatever comes before the @. If a site rejects this address, generating another won’t usually help, because the domain is what it checks. Why websites block temporary email explains how that works.
Questions
Could someone else get the same random address?
It’s very unlikely, because there are so many possible combinations. Even then, an inbox can only be read with the secret token held by the browser that created it.
How many random addresses can I generate?
You have one inbox at a time per browser, and each new address replaces the last. We limit how many inboxes one network can create in a short time.
Can I get a random password too?
No. The inbox doesn’t use a password. For a password, use a password manager’s generator.
