Frequently asked questions

Short answers about how the inbox works, its limits, and your privacy.

What is a temporary email address?

It is a working email address you can use once, without signing up. Open the site, copy the address, and use it wherever a site asks for an email. Messages sent to it show up on this page within seconds.

How long does my inbox last?

Each inbox lasts 24 hours from the moment it is created. The countdown next to the address shows the time left.

After that, the page stops showing the inbox, and our hourly cleanup deletes the address and its messages from our servers. Deletion can happen up to a few hours after expiry.

Why didn’t my verification code arrive?

Many websites block temporary email domains, so we cannot guarantee that every code or link will arrive. Check that you copied the full address, wait a minute, and press Refresh.

If a site refuses the address or never sends anything, it is probably blocking temporary email. Use a permanent address for that site.

Who can read my inbox?

Your browser keeps a secret access token for the inbox. Anyone with that token can read the inbox, which normally means only this browser on this device.

Do not share your screen or device with someone you do not trust while the inbox is open. Delete the inbox when you are done if you want the messages gone right away.

What should I not use it for?

Do not use temporary email for banking, government, health, password recovery, or any account you want to keep. Once the inbox ends you cannot receive email there again, so you could lose access to the account.

Can I send or reply to email?

No. The service only receives email. It never sends, replies to, or forwards messages.

Can I receive attachments?

No. Attachments are removed before a message is stored, and very large messages are rejected. The text and formatting of the email still arrive.

Why are images hidden?

Images in an email are loaded from the sender’s servers, which tells them your IP address and that you opened the message. We block them until you press Load images.

Can I open my inbox on another device?

No. The inbox lives in this browser. Closing the tab is fine, but clearing your browser data, using a private window, or switching devices means starting a new inbox.

Can I choose my own address?

Not yet. Addresses are random so that nobody else can guess or reuse yours.

How do I report abuse?

See the Abuse page for what to include and where to send it. We review every report.
