Temp mail for ChatGPT and other AI tools
People try temporary addresses with AI tools to avoid marketing email. It often doesn’t work, and when it does, your chat history depends on an inbox that lasts one day.
Why AI sign-ups often reject temp mail
AI services are expensive to run, so many of them limit free use per account and try to stop people from creating extra accounts. Blocking known temporary email domains is one of the simplest ways to do that. If ChatGPT or another AI tool rejects the address, or the verification email never arrives, that is the likely reason.
Creating extra accounts to get more free usage is the kind of free-trial abuse our acceptable use policy forbids.
Your history lives in the account
Your conversations, settings, and any paid plan are tied to the account, and the account is tied to your email. If the service ever asks you to verify your email or reset your password after our inbox has ended, you can’t receive that email, and you can lose access to everything in the account.
Where temp mail does help with AI tools
- Small AI tools and browser extensions that want an email just to send you their newsletter.
- Downloading a prompt pack, guide, or template behind an email form.
- Testing the sign-up emails of an AI product you are building.
Privacy tip
A temporary email hides your address, not what you type. Whatever you put into an AI chat is processed by that service under its own privacy policy. Don’t paste passwords, health details, or other people’s personal data into a chat because the account isn’t in your real name.
